More Fall time fun!

Okay, so if that doesn't put a smile on your face, you are a cold, cold person.  I was using my iPhone so Miles could see himself in the camera, he was cracking himself up!  I love that laugh!!!  We carved our pumpkins up at Gramma Ronda and Grampa Dean's house.  Miles didn't want anything to do with the pumpkin that night.  I think when he heard someone else say the inside was gross, he thought it was too and wouldn't do anywhere near it!

In this picture I was playing with an app on my phone.  Miles is the only thing in the picture that is in color.  I love this app and can't wait to play with it some more.  The hat he is wearing is one I used to wear when I was a kid (Thanks Meme!!)

Miles' fear of pumpkins was gone the next time he carved a pumpkin.  Mooma had him diggin in there taking all the seeds out, he LOVED it!

The Shelburne Museum has a trick or treat festival every year.  I took Miles and he had so much fun.  He was a firefighter this year.  It was a bit of a windy and chilly day so he wasn't wearing his helmet. Do you like his "thinking" face?

I LOVE this picture, Miles was so excited to go on the boat and walk around.  They have some antique cars on it and he wanted to ride in those too! He talked about "the boat" for days after!

We did get to meet Ella there, is she the cutest little red riding hood you ever seen or what!

Peas in a Pod these two!

Many of you know Dylan is an avid snowboarder.  He is determined to get Miles up on the mountain this year and I don't think that it is going to be too much of a challenge.  He likes to walk around the house with his ski boots on.  I call this his apres look.

Miles' school had a "trunk-or-treat" event at school.  He was so excited to get some candy!  This kid will do anything for chocolate!

These are two of his friends from school (twins).  We were actually in birthing class with their parents it has been nice to reconnect with them again.

One of the cutest kids in the world!  Thanks for the picture Auntie Jamie!

Miles had a lot of fun making cookie with Mooma and Grampy.  Grampy and Miles put pecans on the pumpkin cookies.  I think Miles caught on to the fact that if he pushed the nuts in a little hard he could lick the frosting off of his fingers.  Incidentally, the frosting on his face in the video above is from one of these cookies.
Caught in the act!
!

Is someone a little proud of his pumpkin?!  Thank you to Great Grandpa Russell for the awesome pumpkin!

Auntie Jamie sent these cupcakes over, Miles was just a little excited about eating it!  So cute!

Apple Picking

While I watch the snow fall down I realize it is time for me to do a little update about our Fall.  It was a beautiful fall in VT!  We were able to get out apple picking a couple times and I made a TON of applesauce. I think it is going to last us a full year!

Miles and I went apple picking one day with Mooma and Jamie.  It was a beautiful day and we picked half a bushel of apples.

It think Miles felt like such a big boy when he was able to pick his own apples!

Miles does love his beautiful Aunt Jamie

Did you ever do this when you were a kid?  Jamie used to sit in the laundry basket all the time with her stuffed animals.  Miles loves to sit in the laundry basket and watch TV.  Then he asks for a ride and either Dylan or myself will push him around the house...so fun!

We went to Ella's birthday party.  They were having so much fun riding around in this wagon!

Aunt Debbi was in town for a week.  It was so good to see her!  Miles was happy to spend time with her too!

And of course we can't forget the ever important leaf jumping part of the fall season!  Miles loved jumping and walking through the leaves.

So cute!

We had so much fun this fall playing in the leaves...

Daddy and Miles

We went for a lot of walks at Technology Park, which has trails that lead to the whale tails....  Miles loved the whale tails and got A LOT of exercise running to them.

Daddy and Miles again!

Here is our four legged child.  He loved being at Technology Park too, see the smile!

More updates to follow, though I am having a little trouble with my computer so I'm not sure how many pictures you will see....  I'll do my best!!!

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY MILES!!!!!!

So yes, it is a month late, but better late than never!  Miles had a wonderful 2nd birthday, thank you to everyone who was a part of his special day/week!

We celebrated his birthday with family the weekend before his birthday, I decided I was going to try to make a fun cake for his birthday.  I have to say that for my first "fancy" cake, I did pretty well.  Here are my supplies, yellow cake, chocolate and vanilla frosting, and construction vehicles.

I did half vanilla and half chocolate because Dylan isn't a fan of chocolate, but Miles sure is!  Here is layer one.

Here is the top layer, half chocolate for dirt, half green for grass, and a grey strip for a road.

I took a fork and (for lack of a better/professional term) picked at the frosting to create grass.

Then came the trucks and crushed up Oreos for rocks.  I was pretty happy with the outcome, as was my most important critic....Miles.

A little cuteness for you!

Miles with his cousin Megan, funny how smitten he is with older girls!

See what I mean!

This was Miles FAVORITE present, Thanks to help from some friends, we were able to get Miles a train table for his birthday, it has been a big hit and continues to be so.  We look forward to adding some more fun stuff to it!

Okay, so here is the finished product of the cake.  I do love it!

Wouldn't you know it, Miles figured out how to blow out a candle after his birthday....oh well maybe next year!

Despite the look on his face, he did really like his cake, especially the frosting!

Then Miles was able to end the day driving the vehicles back into the yard, probably his favorite part of his day!

Here is my toddler September 15th 2011.  We went to dinner with Gramma and Papi at the Windjammer for Miles' birthday and brought cupcakes with us to enjoy.  He had a wonderful birthday and is an amazing 2 year old boy.  We are looking forward watching him grow this next year!

The end of our Summer days.....

Well, as I said before we were quite busy and had a lot of fun this summer.  Miles enjoyed a lot of time playing in this little pool at my parent's house.

At one point this summer we decided to break out the sprinkler.  Miles thought it was really fun!  He kept yelling, "It's raining!" and would then run away from the water.  It always amazes me how something so simple can be so thrilling for children.  I remember being a child and LOVING running through the sprinkler on those hot summer days!

Without any older kids around Miles didn't know what to do with the sprinkler, not to mention the possible intimidation when it shoots up to 15' high!  We decided to turn it down some and then Mooma helped Miles jump over the water.  He was pretty excited about that too!

We met up with our friends Amy and Ava at the Snow Farm Vineyard (where Dylan and I were married) to see Tammy Fletcher and have some yummy food, good company, and delicious wine!  We had a great time.  Miles loved playing with Ava, he certainly does get smitten with a lot of the little girls he meets!

We had some nice family time up in Alburgh, it isn't often that we get to spend time with all of the "kids".  We had a very nice time and wish we could see everyone a little more often.  Miles spent a lot of time outside and had a great time!

Here is a little family picture of everyone.  It is tricky to coordinate everyone, but we are glad to have this photo in our collection.

And last, but never least, our other child.  He was sleeping on the bed in this position when I had to fold some laundry.  I just didn't have the heart to move him....

So in a very brief nutshell that was our summer.  We had a great summer and we are sad to see it end.  Although, I am looking forward to the rest of this year, be for warned there will be a few more posts before the end of the year!  I still have one more post up my sleeve, a pretty big occasion is coming up this week....we celebrated a little this weekend.  I will share those photos and video with you next weekend!  Hope all is well with all of you out there!
